Neighborhood youth painted an “under the sea” mural at Davis Street Park during the summer of 2004.   This weeklong project was a huge success.  Daily, youth came to paint the mural and help develop the creative color scheme.  The last day we celebrated with a grand unveiling and a picnic for everyone.  Parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, cousins and many more joined together to celebrate the youth’s accomplishment.   Generous funding for the project was received by Arcus Foundation Gay and Lesbian Fund, Kalamazoo Community Foundation and In-kind support from City of Kalamazoo Park and Recreation Department.
